This beautiful wedding took place at Crowne Plaza Tysons Corner in Mclean VA, just minutes away from Washington DC. The bride and groom wanted a look that would create a “dream wedding”. We used white sheer drape around the entire room and created white sheer drape dividers to separate the ceremony area from the rest of the ballroom. We came up with a solution that needed 40 panels cover the entire perimeter and create the two dividers. The groom personally told us that it came out BETTER than he expected, and that’s what we were aiming for.

Pipe and Drape Price

Pipe and drape pricing depends on if it’s being used for a simple backdrop behind a head table or sweetheart table, or to cover a complete wall or two, or to drape an entire ballroom. The price can range anywhere from $150 – $8,000 depending on the details. Below are some examples that will make better sense:

Simple Backdrop

Prices range from $150 – $800. Adding custom designs to your backdrop is between $75 -$400. Each panel costs $125 – $150 and there are transportation fees depending on the location, how many technicians are needed to get it done, and how much time we have to setup. The average amount of drape panels for a simple backdrop is usually 1-3.

Room Draping Packages

Prices range from $1,000 – $8,000 on average depending on size of room, how many technicians are needed to get it done, time we have to setup, and of course the amount of fabric and lighting used. We can customize the look of a fully draped ballroom. The average number of panels to drape a room is between 20-40 panels.

Draping is the perfect idea to create beauty, but in order to make a complete masterpiece, you should add uplighting. Whether it’s 1-50 uplighting units used, you can tell by the photos and videos how much difference it makes. When using these features together, you’re guaranteed to get amazing photos (depending on your photographer) and will get many compliments on your special wedding day.

Shimmering Crystals – Crystal backdrops

Price ranges from $50 – $250. There are more specific details such as using panels of crystals to enhance your backdrop even further. When the crystal panels are set on your drape and is reflected by up lighting, it creates a shimmering effect that can adds lots more of the “dream wedding” effect that some couples are looking for.

Uplighting with Drapery (Programmable)

Price ranges from $150 – $1450. These two features go hand in hand and always work well together. Some clients will use pipe and drape alone, but 80% will add lighting for the full effect. Some will take it one step further and program the lights to fade or strobe different colors throughout the event. In my opinion, most people have waited their whole lives for this unique day, so why not create the greatest memories possible. If your budget allows, I would recommend using the drape, crystals, and lighting together. Most weddings are once in a lifetime, so remember, there are no do-overs.
